Return of the Mack

It’s been a minute.

And by a minute, I mean nearly two months.

For that, I apologize—but the break wasn’t for nothing. I needed to take some time to remember why I started blogging in the first place and rethink what I want to accomplish with these posts / how I can make the whole experience better.

Not just for myself, but also the kind souls who swing by for a read.

SPEAKING OF THOSE KIND SOULS. I want to give a shout out to the sweethearts who asked when I’d return to this labor of love. Even if you didn’t really care to know the answer, the simple fact that you were thinking of my blog in the first place means a heck of a lot.

And with that, it’s time to address a few changes you may or may not notice in the coming weeks.

For starters: I’m moving away from song titles on every post—but I’ll still link a hot jam at the end of each brain dump.

Why the shift? Because SEO rules the world and if I ever decide to take this blog seriously, it’d be nice if people could find my posts. (And some topics were really hard to title.)

((Not this one, though.))

Next! As much as I love the concept of Writing Wednesday, doing it every week was tricky.

That’s not to say I’m giving it up altogether.

I’d like to shoot for at least every other week, but it’s gonna come down to having actual tips to share. So here’s another friendly reminder to drop a comment, shoot me an email, find me on social if there’s something you’re dying to learn.

As for my last change, well, it isn’t really a change. More of a heads-up.

While I can’t recall ever promising to steer clear of politics, I did make a conscious effort to keep those thoughts to myself—primarily because I was overwhelmed by everyone else’s opinions and really didn’t feel like adding to the noise.

But for my own mental (maybe even physical?) well-being, I may occasionally touch on current events. If that ever happens, I promise to put a disclaimer right at the top for anyone who’d rather avoid the chaos.

Because it is actual chaos.

Sooooo where do we go from here? I have a few ideas.

  • Italy (in several parts)
  • Travel (in several parts)
  • Driving
  • Sports
  • Weddings (not mine)
  • Homeownership
  • Other things that come with being an adult
  • Maybe cooking things but probably not
  • Books
  • Stuff I buy (Can I do that without being sponsored?)
  • Plus some topics I forgot to write down that I’ll probably remember later

If there’s anything missing that you’re sure would make a great post, I am all ears. Otherwise, you’re stuck with the weird sh*t my brain focuses on for obscene amounts of time.

It’s good to be back.

  1. I’m sure you have a wonderful design aesthetic, so maybe that’s a topic that is an extension of homeownership. Similar to how I’d suggest DIY if you do it, mainly because working outside in the lawn is TOUGH and someone’s gotta have better ideas than me.

Eagerly awaiting your Italy posts ❤ Glad you're back!

PS: Yes, you can post about stuff you buy without it being sponsored. But if you wanted to make money with it, affiliate links with Amazon is probably where it's at.
